At first I was reluctant to buy this, mainly for fear of size issues. As soon as I received it and my son and I set it up, I immediately ordered a second one. My pens, markers and pencils are all different sizes and luckily they all fit! None of them tip over, slip or fall out. Previous reviews have mentioned the fragility of wood, but I don't agree at all. I've abused my art table a lot and these shelves have held up beautifully. The screws are visible until you insert the handles into the slots. Then the screws are hidden. The picture I added shows how much I packed and there were no breaks or warping of the boards. Once the shelves are full, they become heavy enough to fall over, but you can pick them up and move them around if necessary. For the money spent, this was one of the best organizers I've ever bought for my art desk. I don't understand why some are complaining, maybe they want something better to splatter paint or marker on and regret it because of the high cost? To me, these shelves are excellent, take a hit, can be splattered with art media all day (especially for $17 apiece!), and help keep my desk organized by keeping my favorite pencils and pens close at hand at all times. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a little more vertical organization for their creative space. I am more than happy with mine and plan to buy at least 2 more in the future.
