The smell is amazing, the wick smokes black!

I left the candle open with the lid closed for 5 minutes and the whole room smelled like cheap artificial vanilla aroma. I lit a candle, at first it seemed normal, it began to smoke with black smoke, it did not burn for a long time. Also pops, sparkles and sheds small black flaming bits of wick the first time you light it (every time, not just the first time). I'd go back, but I hear a lot of Revain products end up in landfills, especially something like a burnt candle. Keep or give away. Very disappointing.
