My kids (all under 3) love this item. They like to use a soft rubber mallet to hit other toys and it works great since it's soft. As for the game itself, they're too young to understand the concept, but they like to click on the moles when they light up. It also makes lots of noises to keep them entertained. Also, due to the size of the game (the width of a loaf of bread, I'd say) you can throw away the hammer and use your thumbs. That would be easy road trip fun!
