Let me start by saying that you will almost certainly not be using this drone for professional work. But the FAA currently considers drones under 250g to be toys, and this 248g drone is correctly classified. If you are a hobbyist who enjoys taking photos/videos or learning how to fly a commercial drone, this sturdy little drone is a great choice. After learning how to fly this drone, switching to a professional drone (which will cost you at least 10x more than this one) was a breeze. The big plus of this drone is that it is simple and reliable. I've tumbled it countless times during my training and it still flies. The controls were easy to learn and Altair Aerial's customer support team was very helpful whenever I had a question. (The instruction manual was clearly translated into English by a non-native speaker.) The big downside is that it's simple and light. This means that every breeze, every convection current picks it up and scatters it. This is great for making you a better pilot, but your only prayer for great pictures will be on unnaturally windless days. The fact that it can be used for photography and filming allows aspiring professionals to get used to flying and filming at the same time and amateurs can get pictures at a very reasonable price. The secret to buying a drone is knowing what you plan to do with it and choosing the right drone for the job. I'm a photographer who bought this to learn how to fly something I don't mind crashing. I am very happy with this purchase.
