I've had several Anker charging cables over the years and have been generally satisfied. When I got my new phone with a USB-C port, I naturally wanted a nice long 10-foot Anker charging cable. The first one I received seems fine, then I bought another one to have a backup in case I lose it. The latter no longer worked reliably recently, it is sensitive. I just plugged it in, at first it charged then it stopped and no movement seemed to help. Then I noticed it was getting very warm around the charging port so I unplugged it and felt the plug and it was so hot I burned my fingers! Ouch! It also smelled like burnt electronics. A few minutes before it happened I was about to fall asleep but woke up. SO HAPPY to wake up! it could start a fire! My experience with Anker charging cables so far has been generally positive, although some of the older mini-USB cables sometimes failed prematurely, for the most part they've done their job. This time, a bad cable could have been disastrous.
