Sturdy poles; Easy assembly; Inserts into ground easily; Versatile; Withstands at least 20 mph wind

We live in a very windy area, and I had my doubts whether this umbrella would stand up against the wind, especially since it is so wide - but it does. After I had it set up, it held up well in a 20 mph wind.- It is very sturdily built and is made of quality materials. The aluminum pole is 1 1/8 inches in diameter. The umbrella and poles are surprisingly lightweight.- With its spiraled, pointed end, the base pole inserted fairly easily into our wet clay ground. The metal bar that inserts into a hole at the top of the base pole is used like a turnstile to "screw" the pole into the ground. The whole assembly is tall enough that a sufficient length of pole can be inserted into the ground. (PHOTOS)- The top pole that holds the umbrella attaches easily and securely to the base pole, and can easily be disconnected.- It tilts easily at about a 45 degree angle in either direction.- It is primarily made for sand at the beach, but I have not tested it in those conditions.- It comes with a nice polyester carrying bag.Overall, I am very happy with this umbrella so far, and it seems well worth the price.

Pros
  • LOWER AIR VENT DESIGN : Flower vented top of sand umbrella allows heat air out, offering a cool shade under the umbrella. 8 durable umbrella ribs increase wind tolerance and stability against strong winds.
Cons
  • The aluminum pole may become too hot to touch in direct sunlight
