Review on πŸ’ͺ Enhanced Performance: Schneider Electric HOMT1515CP Square Single Pole for Effortless Circuit Control by Larry Sabey

Revainrating 5 out of 5

For some time he worked as a champion.

After just a few days, this circuit breaker barely works. I still give it 5 stars because...well, you'll see. I did not use this hammer for its intended purpose. Instead of installing it in a switch box for overcurrent protection, I soldered it in series with a couple of 3000F ultracapacitors to see if I could turn it into a cheap spot welder. The idea was for this switch to operate for a relatively predictable amount of time, rather than using a series of expensive components rated for high currents. Well it worked. Like, like, something like. Not really. I don't think they expected someone to blow up their 9300A breaker every ten seconds for several minutes and each time it opens slower and slower. I expect that if I continue like this, the contacts will weld and my capacitors will explode. So I gave up. Five stars because this little switch tried so hard to do what I wanted and I just pushed it with 10 kiloamps of current until it turned off. Poor guy.

Pros
  • Magnetic circuit breaker
Cons
  • Not as thick as other picks
