I wanted to refresh my rather modest microphone collection and decided to get a real condenser microphone. I was torn between this and the AKG P120 as a replacement for my old Behringer C1. I had a $25 gift card and found a used P220 so the price was almost the same as buying a new P120 so I agreed and am very glad I did. I did a quick comparison by turning on my bass box mic. first with Behringer C1, then with P220 and finally with my Shure Beta57, why not?! Immediately noticeable was the bass depth the P220 added while retaining sharper highs and less nasal mids than the C1. Next, I want to see how well it picks up my acoustics. This is my only mic to control them all!
