Split Rubber Ring in Vacuum Cleaners and Floor Care

Product was found inside the shipping carton, although not crumpled. And the rubber was damaged in two places. It has been cut out. See photo. Not to mention it's not round. The shape will be fine just not sure about the rubber. It can fail. I should probably return it but I need it.
