At 80, I have my fair share of age-related hearing loss, as well as some hearing loss from acoustic trauma in my left ear - according to a 2019 hearing aid review. The custom audio output profile this product passes through A suite of sound tests meets my needs with a simple and straightforward setup process. Having attended numerous concerts at the (now demolished) Universal Amphitheater in Los Angeles, I have a good idea of the difference between recorded music and live concert music. Music. I set the bass slider on the left cup to about 40% and that gives a "tenth row back, center" feel. For example, if I set the Bass slider to 80%, I get more of a "front row, middle" feel. Simply put, these headphones are a fun "live experience"! If I wanted to hear a classic string quartet more quietly, I'd use my Bose QC II headphones, which give me more of a "flat" sound, and the Bose QC instrument separation would be more concise. I wouldn't call the Skullcandy headphones "reference" or "audiophile" sound quality, but they are more than adequate for every genre of music in my library. They're a little heavier than most premium headphones, but not as uncomfortable. The ear pads are perfect for my ear shape and size. Pairing with my iPhone was easy. ANC is unobtrusive and effective. The semi-rigid carry case is a nice addition, as is the tile location feature and cables for charging and wired use. I don't use the call/answer feature but other reviews may comment. I recommend these Skullcandy ANC Crushers as great music boxes for today's crowd of listeners who love to charge up with their music.
