My husband wanted to buy a thermal shipping label printer for his new business. The great thing about thermal printers is that they don't use ink, which can save you money. Thermal printers use small heating elements to activate or transfer pigment. It uses chemically treated paper that darkens when heated by the thermal head. The beauty of it is that thermal printers don't require separate consumables for ink, toner, or ribbon. However, the downside to saving ink and toner is that it requires special thermal paper, which can be expensive. This thermal barcode printer comes with a small 4" x 6" folded thermal paper sample, so you need to buy more depending on your needs and print volume. The beauty of this printer is that it can handle any thermal mailing paper, both folded and rolled, as long as the label is between 1.5 inches and 4 inches wide. UPS even offers free UPS shipping labels. This thermal printer is compact in size and weighs only 2.64 lbs. Unfortunately, this isn't a wireless connection and needs to be plugged into a Windows or Mac computer using the included USB cable. The kit also includes a power cord and an AC adapter that needs to be plugged into an outlet. Turn the power switch to the "On" position. on the back of the device to use the printer. After connecting and turning on the printer, you can download and install the printer driver from the Phomemo website and follow the instructions. It's very easy. Load labels into the printer, making sure the side to be printed on is facing up. Press and hold the feed button for three (3) seconds and then release. The printer moves the label back and forth and automatically detects the label size. When the label is on the tear-off plane, you can start printing. Every time you change the label size, you have to go through this automatic identification process. Also, remember that it only prints in black and white, not color. This is a high quality and fast mail printer. It can print one shipping label per second and run continuously for twelve (12) hours without jams. If the printer beeps, it means there is a printer error. What's amazing, if you need tech support, you can always contact Phomemo via phone, email, or live chat!
