This makes your pre LCI iDrive look more like the LCI version which is why I bought it. What I received was the product pictured, 2 pieces and nothing else. As another reviewer said, there are no installation instructions in the box. Another reviewer said you need to remove the plastic ring, which I think was referring to the black rubber ring at the top of the original handle. That wasn't the case with me. All I had to do was carefully remove the original iDrive grip top (pops out just above the black rubber ring on the original laptop). Be careful, use a thin flathead screwdriver and poke it a little in one spot, don't pry in one spot and don't expect the whole handle to just pop out. Place your fingertip underneath to keep that area open, then gently lift the other point. Repeat until it releases (there are 4 clip areas, you will see this when it releases). Once the original cover is off, simply place the ring on the original handle and then line up the top (the one with the arrows) with the 4 clips and press down. That's all.
