This product has 3 disadvantages that I know of: 1. The buttons are swapped: The labels on the RESET and NEW buttons are swapped. This is discreetly documented in the enclosed instructions. You have an image where the RESET button is on the right and the NEW button is in the middle. At least for the model I received this seems to be the case.2. There is no way to set a baseline ("zero level"). If the instrument is turned off and on again, or if RESET (rightmost button) is pressed for 3 seconds, the instrument will initialize. The documentation says you have to RESET it in a place with "good air" to set the good air reading. The problem is that I don't have a place that I know of as "good air". That's why I bought this tool. It appears to establish a baseline ("zero value") for at least some contaminants based on the assumption that they are not present in the air sampled by the instrument during the first 120 seconds after RESET. During this initialization phase, the CO level display counts down from zero to 120. The problem is that she appears to base subsequent results on the assumption that the instrument does not sample for the first 120 seconds, and then compares subsequent readings to that initial level and calculate the readings displayed.3. In my experience, as long as you leave the device on after initialization, the displayed CO2 value slowly increases. For example, if you press the NEW button after the CO2 level has slowly increased to 1600ppm, it will show a reasonable value for a while, typically between 550 and 600ppm, and then continue to rise. It seems to add just over 1000ppm to the initial reading for each day of continuous use. If you then press NEW again, the displayed CO2 concentration will start again at approximately the same "reasonable" level of 550-600ppm and start drifting up again. If there's a limit to how high it will eventually climb, I haven't found it yet. Easy to read? In low light, text is unreadable on any of the 7-segment displays.
