A few years ago, when I wore out all the cotton socks my mom owned in the 1990s, I was forced to renew my search for round socks that didn't feel like I was wearing plastic bags on my feet. While most adult products tend to be higher quality, the solution in this case was to go down to child sizes. This is the best I can find in 95+% cotton socks these days, and I think the reason they're still breathable when they're actually only 80% cotton is because of the recycled material is nylon and not polyester. So I'm on my third or fourth pack of Jefferies socks after almost eight years and I'm very happy with their cotton breathability and absorbency, that they never lose their elasticity and that they take years of daily wear to wear. Holes in it - and all for a price similar to Hanes or Fruit of the Loom. Just for reference, they also match the size chart they provide, although not too small.
