Review on πŸ’Ώ Optical Quantum 50 GB Blu-ray Double Layer Disc - High-speed 6X BD-R DL Logo Top, 50-Disc Spindle by Brad Blake

They were amazing in 2017 but not in the batch I bought in 2019.

Other reviews of this product in 2017 were delighted, happy and praising. So I ordered ten pieces. But around the time I bought it (2019), the reviews started pouring in with dark, dark words - too late to warn me. If you plan to put videos on it, you'll find that while your computer can read them reasonably well (if your author is the same one who writes them), your BluRay player might not even start. "Disc cannot be loaded" will be your welcome message. It's 2020, almost 2021, so they could be improved, but don't order those sad little frisbees unless you plan on using them for data storage, and only if the data isn't critical. If you've already bought a whole box of these, use them as backup storage, with the main storage being an external hard drive or similar. Or look for reviews from 2020 or later. Pros: Cheap, about a dollar a disc. You save data when the same recorder that wrote the data is reading the data. Cons: The disc is not worth the money.

Pros
  • Blu-ray discs are specially designed to store large HD video and audio files.
Cons
  • Out of fashion
