My son bought my wired pc from me and took the windows 10 pc to his room where he needed wifi. I had an old Belkin USB WiFi dongle in the garage that we installed and everything looked fine. At first it was unreliable and frustrating to maintain a constant connection when you were playing an online game and then lost the connection and thus abandoned teammates who depended on you. We installed this Wi-Fi adapter AND disabled the internal motherboard wired RJ45 network adapter. First we booted the installation disk, plugged in the adapter, and then restarted Windows 10. After Windows 10 was back, we joined the SSID for our 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz WiFi channels; then my son was ready to go. He played fast-paced first-person shooters online with no disconnections. We have nothing more to ask.
