Works with ChromeOS

My biggest concern when purchasing this product - or any other Bluetooth keypad - was whether it would work with my Chromebook (particularly the Pixel Slate). In theory it should be, but things don't always work the way they should in theory and none of the other reviews or Q&A have confirmed this. I took the risk and am very happy about it. This digital pad connected to my tablet right away and didn't cause me any problems. Of course the calculator shortcut doesn't work, but I wasn't expecting it, it's just that ChromeOS doesn't work that way. (For the record, I also paired this with my Win10 computer and the calculator button works as expected there, so make sure you know your operating system and its capabilities and limitations before purchasing.) Other features like shortcuts for $ ,00 and so on actually worked perfectly, which was a very pleasant surprise. It was these qualities that made me buy this number pad as opposed to others on sale, although I didn't know if they would work or not. I've only had it for about a week and only used it twice so can't comment on battery life or durability but it seems very well made and not cheap at all which means it should last a long time. One note: I really wanted some kind of hard travel case for it because I want to keep it in good condition and protect its keys. Finding a case was a bit difficult as the specific dimensions of this keyboard do not match typical case sizes. I look at cases for external hard drives, USB batteries, camcorder cases, mini projector cases - none of them fit. I finally settled on the RevainBasics 5 inch GPS case (https://www.amazon.com/RevainBasics-Hard-Carrying-Case-5-Inch/dp/B004I5BUSO/) and it seems to work fine. Spring. The keyboard doesn't lay flat in the case, but it fits slantedly, doesn't bounce or move inside, and doesn't crumple or barely fit. Overall I think it fits well so I wanted to mention it to anyone who might be looking for a case and hopefully save you some time searching. My main goal for this review is to hopefully help anyone wondering if this will work on a Chromebook, and I'm happy to report that it actually works great on ChromeOS. Highly recommended!
