I bought this flare tool to double flare 3/16" stainless steel brake lines. It's a much more expensive tool hoping it gets the job done right. It arrived quickly and had everything needed (except a pipe cutter, which I already had) to double up 3/16" tubing. After a few mistakes on my part, I quickly started making flawless, consistent double flashes .If like me you skim through instructions and end up making silly mistakes, here are some tips on using this tool: Do. Each end of the cube is used to make a different type of flanging, so when the top and bottom punches don't match , you end up with a crooked flare that doesn't work at all. Use OP.0 to keep the tube flush with the flare head. If you don't do this, you'll spend a lot of time looking at it , and you may not be happy with the results. I didn't find it necessary to bevel the outside sides of the tube, but I cleaned the cut really well before clicking it. That's did actually like that. It's an easy-to-use tool that delivers great results. The only negative I can say about this is that you have to apply a lot of pressure on the lever to flare the stainless steel line. It would be nice to have a longer lever, but it's serviceable and adding a tube makes it easier.
