Excellent Double Flairs

Contrary to the negative reviews I have found this product to produce excellent double flairs on stainless steel tubing when used as directed. First you need to camphorize the outside of the tube and also clean the inside of the tube's cutout. You need to liberally coat the die with an anti-seize coating. Clamp as directed and twist the lever for a great double flair.

If you are planning flare lines, BUY THIS TOOL!

Absolutely LOVE this little shop tool. I wish I had had something like this 20 years ago. Makes perfect flashes every time. I built a double training rocket and saw how awesome it was and immediately started working on my project. No problem with flared steel and stainless steel lines. I have no complaints about this tool but it would be great if they put instructions and light up information on a laminated card that sticks to the inside of the storage box lid.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Questionable purchase for seniors

Better! Best in Tools and Equipment

This type of torch is way better than the standard old school torch I used the year before. It's relatively easy to use and makes absolutely perfect factory torches every time. I wish it wasn't that expensive, but I kind of get how much better it works. No more fiddling with crooked torches or betting on whether your torch is good enough to seal it and cutting your cord to do it again. First time great flashes every time! I'm very impressed if you can't tell? I highly recommend this tool.

Pros
  • Useful for more than its intended purpose
Cons

Perfect Stainless Steel 3/8 .028 wall flare

Great tool. Uses this to put sockets on 3/8 .028 gauge stainless steel pipe. It worked great. Be sure to watch the video on how to use it. When placing dyes in the holder, make sure you place them on top and bottom and not next to each other. I made that mistake and had problems. So I watched a video on YouTube and realized I put the dyes in the right direction. After that I was able to flare the 3/8 stainless steel line with no problem and it came out perfectly. Yes, it may cost, but the tool…

Nice tool! fits brake flare tools

This tool is probably overkill for a car enthusiast like me, but I've tried two different unnamed screw clamp tools made by the usual suspects (OEM and Powerbuilt) and they were downright awful. Line 3/16 slipped through them. I would never trust those torches to stop a semi-truck. When you need to flare harder steel brake lines, this tool makes the job a pleasure. Since I couldn't find any pre-made lines for my car, the $200 price tag makes it worth it. Still saving $ compared to paying in…

A very impressive device!

This tool is amazing, I had trouble with a standard flaring tool when trying to make double flares on 3/16" stainless steel tubing. I actually messed up 2 of those cheap tools using them on a stainless steel pipe. At first I didn't know if I should spend money on this tool but now I'm glad I did. This tool is possibly the most efficient tool I have ever bought. He makes perfect flashes every time. Now it literally takes seconds to make dual expanders from stainless steel brake line tubing. It…

Best Tool Ever!: Brake Flaring Tools

I've wanted this brake line tool for a long time but couldn't justify the price. A recent project came up where I needed to make a complete set of brake lines, and I hated the thought of fighting old-school twin-torch presses that happen to get a good result. I've had this tool for 1 day and have done over 16 perfect double flashes including a test pattern. I used it all day and didn't get a single bad flash! The question is the price, but after using it you will not regret for a second, it is…

Works well on stainless steel lines

I bought this flare tool to double flare 3/16" stainless steel brake lines. It's a much more expensive tool hoping it gets the job done right. It arrived quickly and had everything needed (except a pipe cutter, which I already had) to double up 3/16" tubing. After a few mistakes on my part, I quickly started making flawless, consistent double flashes .If like me you skim through instructions and end up making silly mistakes, here are some tips on using this tool: Do. Each end of the cube is…
