Review on πŸ”‘ Dorman 13778 Keyless Entry Transmitter: OE FIX for Select Models - Enhanced Search by Joseph Morris

Didn't work for me, but maybe for you.

This did not work for the 2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee I bought it for. 3 stars because although I have verified by VIN number and visual inspection that the car is equipped with remote keyless entry, I cannot say with certainty that the wireless receiver in the car does not have one as the car does not have the original Key fob has a problem. Some useful information not found in the manual, when you first connect to the ODBC connector the device will beep 3 times and flash the light 3 times, after about 1 minute there will be a single beep/flash of light. (Approximately) every additional minute that the device remains in place, it will beep/flash once. Due to an initial programming error at the first single beep, which I took from the instructions to be a 1-second beep to indicate programming readiness, I then attempted to program after the first three beeps, after the first one-minute beep (several times). after the 2nd and 3rd minute, a beep sounds when you try again, but without success. I measured the battery voltage in the key fob which was fine and then tried programming one last time (8+ attempts total). Although I could be in the wrong (non-starting) key position for some time, but when using any position other than position 1 the red indicator comes on and stays on after the first 3 beeps so the position should be correct. So the CR2032 battery, the standard CMOS battery used in computer motherboards, is very common and easy to find. Again, I can't be sure the problem isn't with the receiver in the car, just that it didn't work for me, your results may vary.
