I would buy a half or one size larger than my normal shoe size.
They're great for beach weather that you wear in salt or fresh water. I bought these to wear on vacation and they are great for walking back and forth to the ocean and hot sand. We live near a river and this also helped protect my child's feet from sticks and shells in the river.
