Revainrating 4 out of 5

Very cute monitor!

This was my first monitor upgrade from a monitor I've had for about 13 years. It's a great display, love the 144Hz refresh rate. Great monitor for the price. In the photo on the left in the photo is my installation! Also, I'm biased against Acer monitors as my first monitor that lasted this long wouldn't break, as far as I can tell, despite many hours of daily use over a decade. Great monitors from Acer. I have always recommended them first and not any other monitor brand. the middle and half are shifted; Turning the monitor off and on again solves this problem] and I absolutely HATE that the power button doesn't just press and the monitor turns off. No, you have to press and hold this dumb thing for anywhere from 5 to 10 seconds, and sometimes it doesn't seem to register my press at all. I'm never sure about pressing it directly until I spend 5-10 seconds waiting for it to turn off. I don't know if this is just my monitor related, but if it's a design decision then it was really dumb. For this reason, the half-second shutdown of my displays at night takes ten times longer for no reason. Single press doesn't even perform a function, so I don't really know why that is. I also had uneven lighting behind the panel, which was very distracting from dark scenes on the display. It's a good monitor for the price, but there doesn't seem to be any guarantee of quality and some of the design choices for its features were brainless. I rate it 4 stars but it's closer to 3.8 out of 5. I would like to know if these issues are due to my unit being faulty or the monitor being stupidly designed. Edit 6/18/2021: I've finally replaced this monitor with an LG 27GL850 - a very glamorous upgrade indeed! The backlight on this monitor, now that I have a better one to compare, was pretty bad. It's certainly acceptable for the amount I originally paid for it, but it might be better to save up for something better! I definitely liked this monitor, but the backlight flickering that I couldn't figure out how to fix was a major downside.
