Review on Watts Premier 531417 Reverse Osmosis by Eric Young

2 out of 2 systems are leaking.

I first bought this system a few years ago for its seemingly easy installation and easy filter change. Immediately after installation, I noticed that the faucet was leaking. I thought I made a mistake installing it and trying to make sure I tightened everything properly. Does not matter. Unfortunately, I had already put so much time and effort into installing it that I didn't want to take it apart and send it back. Big mistake! The system had been leaking for years, so we started putting a jug under the faucet and turning it off periodically so the water wasn't wasted. In the meantime we tried all possible solutions but the main problem was that the valve in the faucet was broken so nothing worked. In the end we got fed up with it and decided to replace it. Assuming we received an odd broken part and most of those things were fine, we ordered another one of the same kind. Yes, I may not look like him, but I'm an idiot. Another thought was that even if there was some imperfection in their design, the company would surely improve it all these years later. We ordered one in August 2020 but before we could install it we decided to move so we decided to install a new one in our new home. The move took some time, so it was already 3 months since we started the installation. Upon installation we found that the new system was leaking in TWO places: the valve at the top of the tank and the faucet inlets. Again, I assumed I had made a mistake during the installation, so I squared the pipes again and tried, but to no avail. Disappointed, I decided to return it only to find that the free return period had expired. So I contacted the company and after a few calls they agreed to send me replacement valves for the tank and faucet. Well I contacted the company before Thanksgiving 2020. It is now February 11, 2021 and I have not received any parts or reply. The last time I heard from a company representative was around December that the parts were out of stock and that they would ship them as soon as they received them. In the meantime, they seem to have enough parts to keep building new systems and selling them to more ignorant customers. I quit this company. I don't want to spend more money right away, so I'll put up with a leaky system for now. But this company clearly sucks. I also installed a GE system for my parents. Changing the filters on this system isn't as easy as this one, but it WORKS! In my experience, at least this company not only produces defective parts, but also does not honor their warranty. Too bad I didn't have the time and resources to sue him as that seems like the only way to fix things. I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND this product to anyone unless you install it through a plumber who will take responsibility for it not leaking and working properly.
