Not a particularly good receiver. Skip and find other top codecs that receivers support.

You might think that buying the latest and greatest "Bluetooth 5.0” receiver would be the latest technology. Well you are wrong, this Anker receiver does not support the best codecs (AAC, APtX, Apt X HD, etc.). You may have noticed that they don't list any codecs anywhere, not even on their product website. , Now you know. I had to write to ANKER support to find out. I give them credit, they were quick to respond with details. Pros: Good build, like most Anker products I've used. Cons: 1) No auto reconnect which is quite annoying in a car situation! Regardless, if I reconnect my Android LG phone to the receiver, it will automatically reconnect once I'm back in range. I had to move it out of the console so I could press a button to have it scan for local devices in the area. Pretty disgusting 2) battery, what's the point of this? All they seem to be doing with this device is obfuscating it so it doesn't validate a previous complaint about devices re-entering the zone. It's even more annoying when you're near the car and it's still communicating remotely and you have to manually disable Bluetooth during a roaming call! 3) Codecs stuck in the old school Bluetooth 4.0 era (3+ years) I'm not an audiophile at least, but if you can hear the difference between SBC (which is used here) and newer ones like LDAC and APT x HD here, there it it's time for anchors.

Pros
  • Consistent test results
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model
