Installation took about 15 seconds and is probably the most liberating thing I've ever bought in my life. No need to herd cats at night before bed - literally - this is awesome. They come and go as they please and are as happy and free as I am. I have a small cat and a much larger cat; The big cat is wiry and can slip through the smaller door using a special "cat origami" technique they seem to have mastered. However, if it ever "gets full," it won't fit through that door. I suggest a large door if you have a fat cat, an exceptionally fluffy cat, an older cat, or a "less active" cat. I have no problem letting cold air in as it is a remote room. You need enough ledge outside for cats to jump on before climbing through the door, and the ledge needs to be close enough to the ground to be accessible (mine is about a meter off the ground). A door that is slightly higher than the ground reduces the likelihood of unwanted visits from possums and raccoons. The door gets dirty, albeit fairly quickly, as the cats get in by bumping into it with their wet noses. I LOVE IT AND YOU DO IT!
