Review on Improved BindMaster Extension with Prong Grounded Outlets by Ronald Orear

Revainrating 3 out of 5

The sockets on the double side are too close together.

This cable should work, but the biggest problem is that the sockets on the double side are too close together. So if you have a plug that is larger than the standard sized 3-pin plug, it will connect both sockets. That means no timers, no light controls, and definitely no transformers—even on the other side if you want to use a different outlet. This means that if you want to make full use of all three plugs, you can really only use one socket on the other side for larger things. This means only one common transformer, reducing the appeal of the two-way form factor. I've included a photo to show the difference between this connector (right) and the usual configuration for such connectors, as shown on the white wire. . Usually the distance is the same as a standard outlet, as you can see from the white cord in my example. The outlets on this one are about half that far apart. In fact, now when I look at the photos of the products I see that they are not spaced apart at all, but I just didn't notice or think that the manufacturer would break with all the conventional wisdom about this type of cable and do it like this. I ended up buying another one with the same black cable from my local Walmart that has the same setup as the white cable in my photo. I'll keep this cable though as it's for Christmas lights and the like and it's too much hassle. Come back.
