This makes the cat a reliable inflatable bed! It took my husband about 45 minutes to assemble and he cursed that he lost a screw or something. Not sure about the folded thing another reviewer mentioned. It comes in a box and part of the bed is folded up I believe. There may be an issue with cats' ability to jump onto part of the bed when they have arthritis. You cannot easily get off the base as it is completely under the top of the bed. You need to jump from afar or pull yourself up and pull over the edge if that makes sense. The unit fits perfectly in the covered katio area we have set up for them outside to provide them with fresh air. It may not tolerate winter well, so it will likely need to be brought in at some point. For the money I think it's a good solid buy. A little catnip on top can be tempting.
