So let me get that straight first. I have a feeling this will be a great product. The plastic base is very well made. Everything is very well coordinated. The parts are thick and durable. The non-slip feet do the job well considering how light the base is. However, when she arrived she was dead for an incredibly embarrassing reason. I originally bought it to use with a phone that also turned out to be faulty. I haven't had to return anything for three years so no luck here. I figured out the problem with the phone in the return window and fixed it, but I kept the base because I didn't know there was a problem with it. That is, until the return window is closed. So I was left with a base that doesn't work in any way. can you open it I have a lot of electronics experience and have even designed some embedded hardware. Open it up and as I said, it's solid plastic. That side of things is very well done. But I also see on the board why it doesn't work. A very important pin has no contact with the board. and it was in a pot. The error is literally sealed where I can't fix it. At least not without painstakingly scraping the filling. This is an unfortunate Q/C error. So I'm left with something that can't even be used as a door weight. Big.
