This camera is located on a mast in the yard about 30 meters from the Wi-Fi extender. We look at the yard and the gate through which one of our idiot horses likes to open and let himself/others out. I feel more secure knowing I'll be notified if something happens that we're not expecting. I oriented the solar panel slightly south/southwest and it stays charged daily even when it's snowed heavily all day (14+ inches) so it doesn't need constant sun. I like the little magnetic "ball mount" that you just hang on a nail and then attach the camera to this magnetic ball at any angle and stay in place. Night vision works well enough to see about 100 feet with a yard light, and snow/ice hasn't caused any problems so far. It has 2-way audio and I was able to yell at a dog for chasing a farm cat once - he was scared as hell! Ha. For the money this is a pretty good deal - works for what we need and love being able to see the farm. If a person had a 4G WiFi hotspot, you could place it anywhere.
