We bought this DVD player for our 18 month old daughter to watch on a long car ride. The picture quality was excellent. Other reviewers noted that the volume wasn't loud enough, but it was more than enough for us (even while driving on the interstate). My main complaint about this item is that the remote control lacks power and volume control! It's almost pointless having a remote control at all if you can't use it to adjust the volume or turn the device on and off. Our daughter is still rear-facing in her car seat, so we installed a DVD player in the rear seat headrest (although not the one directly in front of her, for safety reasons in the event of an accident). So we couldn't reach the DVD player from the front seat to turn it on; We had to stop the car to do it. I agree with some of the other reviewers that the accessories are a bit below average. The cord of the car power adapter wasn't long enough to reach from the cigarette lighter in the front seat to the DVD player in the back seat, so we had to charge the battery when not in use. The carry case/headrest mount that comes with it is cheap and I found it very difficult and inconvenient to attach it to the headrest in our car. That didn't bother me as I didn't expect the DVD player to come with a headrest mount. I bought a TFY headrest mount for 9" portable pan/tilt DVD players and it worked great. Was very easy to install and held the DVD player securely enough. Can't rate the durability of this item as we only used it on one trip but it looks well made.
