Great press! Here are some simple usage tips ;-)

This is really, really cool! My wife got me another hamburger press for Valentine's Day and she had many issues: 1) too small overall (only make tiny burgers), 2) the filling cavity was too small (not enough room to fill), but 3) most importantly that the burger was destroyed trying to get it out of the press (then what for!). I thought it was crazy! Why not put a push up plate under the burger so you don't ruin what you just made! Well that's what this hamburger press does, and it solves two other problems too :-) I read tons of reviews, ordered it on Prime and got it on Sunday, and we made *great* burgers that night! I thought it was very easy to use compared to other presses. In part maybe because while I waited I looked for other videos, saw how to use it, and figured out what to do. In our first attempt I combined about 5 different ideas. I used 2 pounds of grass-fed beef, then in a large bowl, tossed together some Worcestershire and soy sauce along with freshly chopped cilantro and some basil, sea salt, and ground pepper (no actual measure here, just as much as you want). After taking a while to get a good mixture, I spread the meat out on a platter in the shape of a meatloaf, then used a spatula to separate it into 4 equal pieces (a spatula was a great tip I looked into) . the video about the stuffed burgers and I ordered this at the same time as the press and it worked great). Then I took a small bowl for the filling and added some chopped garlic, chopped jalapenos, pepper rings and mushrooms, shredded American cheese and mixed it all together. Simply divide each portion of meat into 2/3 (for the base). that you leave a deep impression beforehand) and 1/3 on top. All you have to do is press the bottom a little and twist it a little to get an even cake. Removing the good print cover is a little tricky, but I used a paper towel to get more grip. Then, repeat this steady push and twist motion to make the indentation deep and even, and scrape away any excess meat that comes out (just add this to the 1/3 serving for the top patty for now). Then put the indentation lid back on, shape the remaining 1/3 into a flatbread (not necessarily perfect, close enough to the flatbread to set on the bottom), press and twist again a little and slice the Surplus for next burger. When you're done, simply press down on the center of the base (make sure it's in the center so it comes out easier and without damage) to pull the patty out, then place the patty side first on the Plate with the bottom up (under the action of gravity, the bottom detaches from the cake). The cakes turned out perfect! Now for some minor issues: 1) I did notice a bit of sticking, which one reviewer mentioned, but it was *nothing* compared to another press's disaster. I'm not worried about that as I've made 4 1/2 pound burgers with no real problems. 2) I'll keep experimenting with putting the lid on and off, but the paper towel seems to have helped. 3) I couldn't find any information about the e-book on the box or on the Grillaholics website so I may have to call (no customer support email unfortunately). But IMHO these are all *VERY* trifles. After suffering with a very bad product (now in the cart) I am very happy with it! We're going to have two more burgers for lunch today and I can see we have years of use of those abs ahead of us :-)
