I'm glad I didn't write a review immediately after receiving the gift as I would have wrongly given this product a good rating. I found the sound to be pretty good and was impressed with the number of songs and battery life. I got a Sony Psyc (blue) MP3 player for Christmas. I installed the software that evening, took advantage of the 5 free downloads and also put a couple of my own CDs on it. Everything went smoothly and I have used it several times and thought it was great! My problems started when I wanted to transfer all my purchased Realplayer downloads. This MP3 player was not supported. I put the MP3 player on the dresser and it sat there for about 2 weeks. When I used it again it would lock and/or shut down. I couldn't access the menu and my computer didn't recognize it when I connected it to the USB cable. After phoning Sony, I realized this thing had just died. in the same Sony style. I tried to transfer songs I bought through the included Sony software but it says that this type of file cannot be transferred. HELLO? This is from your Sony website! Can't even post songs from your site? I'm fed up with this $90 junk. I will not recommend this player to anyone. Nothing but a headache.
