Review on πŸ–ŠοΈ Enhanced Apple Pencil (1st Generation) by Kev See

Revainrating 4 out of 5

Great product for creativity and control but with some simple usability flaws!

This is a great input device for the Apple iPad Pro. It's not perfect in some ways, but it's very good for drawing, writing, and tablet touch controls. Here are the pros and cons I've seen since I started using the pencil: Pros: β€’ Great for drawing or writing β€’ Great for photo editing and graphic creation β€’ When used as a touch control, it's very accurate when the tip is used. . I even like using it to read and highlight text in a book. β€’ It comes with a replaceable spare tip. β€’ It comes with a Lightning adapter that allows you to use the lighting cable to charge your pen. β€’ It charges quickly. β€’ You can change the pressure or tilt of the pen tip to adjust the brightness or line width of a bush, for example when coloring a picture. β€’ You can see the battery level of the pen by dragging down the day window. Shadows at the top of the screen and touch widgets. The battery status of your iPad and Pencil is displayed. Cons: β€’ No ability to attach a pencil to an iPad Pro or Apple Smart Keyboard. It would be very helpful to use a simple magnet or other attachment technique. β€’ The cap that covers the pen's Lightning connector is not attached to the pen in any way, so it's very easy to lose it, as you often have to remove the cap to charge the pen. . The cap has a small built in magnet so it stays in place when placed on the pen, but once removed to charge the pen its lifespan will be limited by human error if lost β€’ The charging port that comes with the stylus is very small, and there's also no way to pair it with a key ring or other object. It's about the size of a small medicinal pill and can easily get lost. β€’ The pencil doesn't even have a pocket clip like an inexpensive ballpoint pen or mechanical pencil. Don't you think it would be nice for $99? β€’ Plugging a stylus into the side of an iPad Pro for charging is just an accident. I wonder how many people break a pencil or an iPad Pro charging port in the process? Tablet. With hundreds of special painting effects, you can draw lines so thin and small that they are barely visible when painting with a brush. The screen's sensitivity to the touch of a pencil is amazing, allowing for very precise control of your apps and drawings. The stylus connects to your iPad via Bluetooth, and when you insert the stylus into your tablet's Lightning connector, you'll be prompted to pair it, which happens immediately. This is a 5 star tool that you can use with your iPad Pro, but it will not work with your iPhone or other iPads. The cons reduce it to a 4 star product in my humble opinion. Ease of use involves carrying and storing a pencil, and Apple really missed an opportunity in that regard. Note that the pencil can be purchased from Apple for $99, so don't overpay for the device. Mine came from Apple and I ordered it the same day I ordered my iPad Pro. I had to wait 4 weeks to receive it, which annoyed me that Apple released the product with no accessories available. I added a drawing made with the Procreate app.
