This box solved my "cat won't stop meowing and gets sick in the car" problem. I bought this for a 17 hour trip and my howling, puking cat was downright cold the whole time. MAGIC Just two issues that really caught my eye. At first, you can buckle him up with seat belts, but if you get into a serious accident, I don't think your furry friend is protected (ie he'll most likely get thrown through the cloth material). Another less serious issue is that the kitty got pushed around a bit when we were on bumpy roads. This was solved by putting a cat bed and pillow inside (enough space even with a litter box). I guess for safety reasons I wouldn't recommend this for short trips in a busy area where the risk of accidents is higher. But if you need something to calm an angry animal during a relatively smooth and safe long drive, you can cushion it all around and at least add a little more cushioning if you need to stop abruptly. My kitten has a heart condition and I was terribly worried about how stress would affect him, but stopped by a couple of times to see him snoozing peacefully. A 180 degree change from any other time I've had it in my car. No crying, no vomiting, no stress for the kitten or the people. If they made a kevlar version that could hold it up in the event of an accident that would be perfection!
