A two-piece suit would be better.
I am 5'7" and 190 lbs. I bought XL and it fits well. It would be perfect if the shirt wasn't attached to the shorts as the one piece jumpsuit shorts pull up the top as you walk and the extra fabric falls down to help with chafing and hide the fact that your haha eats shorts. I can see that someone who doesn't want extra coverage would have preferred just shorts, but I was grateful for the extra fabric. It's not the most comfortable outfit as the shorts are pulled up but other than that it was very cute and I'll be wearing it again for a beach vacation this summer.
