Very easy to use on Macintosh - no special drivers needed. You simply connect it to your VCR or camcorder and the USB end to your computer, open QuickTime Player and choose New Video Recording from the File menu. From these, you can click the record button wherever you want. You can use QuickTime Player to remove unwanted parts so you can capture something before and after the clip you want so you don't miss anything. The quality of the recorded clip depends on the cassette you inserted into the VCR. If the tape has playback problems, they will show up in your recording. Sometimes it's a long way out of sync if you see streaks between images, but this is easily fixed by disconnecting the USB cable, exiting QuickTime Player, then reconnecting the USB cable and reopening QuickTime Player. Overall, this device did exactly what I needed.
