Review on 🐠 Aquapapa Corner Filter: Efficient Air-Driven Bio Sponge Ceramic for Nano Fish Tank Aquarium (Ship from CA USA) by Robin Williams

Revainrating 5 out of 5

This is a really great little filter with low bioburden

I've been using this in my 5 gallon aquarium for several months. Works perfectly! I have a planted aquarium with only 1 fish, so ideal conditions for this small filter. I of course replaced the supposed bio balls that came with the kit. I'm a big fan of Seachem products so I use matrix for the bio and some crushed coral to improve the pH. I only feed my Betta 3 pellets twice a day (except on worm day) and watch him eat so his food never falls on the floor. Because of this, I don't have to vacuum much, so I haven't taken the filter out to clean it for at least 2 months. It's not dirty and my tank is still intact. I read some reviews that said bettas have fins. I think it's because it's an unhealthy fish that isn't strong enough to walk. Those poor little bantams in tiny tubs from online pet stores are no sane fellows, and they spend their lives unable to swim, down to an inch or so. So if you bought one of these bettas I wouldn't be happy. If you have a lot of animals in your tank or are not a good swimmer, I would consider an organic sponge. But if you have a super healthy guy in your aquarium, then this filter is for you! I wouldn't put this in a tank larger than 5 gallons, once you get into 10 gallons or larger, OTB or a large bio-sponge is the way to go.

Pros
  • Perfect for outdoor activities
Cons
  • Vulgarity
