Check the case for holes (or lack thereof) for the volume and power buttons.
I love this iPad case (rose gold). However, I would give it 5 stars; I noticed that I was having a lot of trouble with the volume (up/down) and power (on/off) functions. At first I thought the case didn't quite fit my iPad. Finally, I removed the case from the iPad to ensure there were no holes in the case for these functions. So I opened them up with little tools and WOW! Through these holes I was able to make contact! Much happier now. Perhaps the manufacturer overlooked something? I wouldn't let that stop me from ordering again. I just saw it as a minor bug and fixed it.
