I've always disliked the piano black finish on the shifter and decided to cover it with a carbon fiber cover. I wiped it with alcohol and warmed it up with a hair dryer after installation. Makes it a little thicker as it's now covered in plastic over the original, but holds up well after 24 hours. Decided to order more parts after this good experience.
