Review on Portable Submersible Efficiently Basement Available by Dewitt Graham

I bought this pump for my quarterly hot tub water change. I used siphons and it took about 90 minutes to drain the water. I was hoping that the pump would make the process easier and faster, but it took longer. It wasn't until the tub was nearly empty that I noticed water splashing off the side of the pump housing. When I finished and took a closer look at the pump, I found that the gasket was installed incorrectly. I'm not very handy, but disassembling the case and installing the gasket wasn't difficult. I hope the September replacement does better. CONTINUED: The gasket was in when I started. Towards the end, as the level in the tub dropped, I saw the water flow out. When I was done I reinstalled the gasket but after about 30 seconds of running it was gone again. I think I'll get a different pump. FURTHER FOLLOW-UP: I reported the issue to the company and they sent a replacement unit without asking me to ship the defective unit back. I ran a five minute test and see no leaks. I hope my water change in December goes smoothly.
