Super fast with this connection. But I can't get it to stay connected to my Mac laptop. It slides out with the slightest movement. It slips out a bit, but that's enough to break the connection until I put it back in. The flickering activity light is annoying, but tape can fix that. I have no idea why anyone would want twinkling lights on an adapter. The constant light is at least useful for knowing at a glance when the adapter has been disconnected from your laptop. Given the low cost and high speed of this adapter, I think it's a good deal if you plug it in while the USB-C hub is under your desk, as it's unlikely to move and the flickering light won't enter your eyes . But I don't recommend it for laptops.
