It works so well. I combine No Yellow and No Orange (to get my desired ash blonde shade) with Olaplex and am blown away by the amazing results. My hair isn't very porous either so the product takes a while to work 1. - I wash my hair with a clarifying shampoo 2. - Mix equal parts (or whatever) No Yellow, No Orange with a teaspoon Olaplex 3. - Separate hair for 4 quadrants - apply from root to tip - comb through each section - add more mixture if needed. - 15 minutes first) 5. - VERY important - after washing out this mixture, wash your hair with normal shampoo! It will remove some of the purple or blue from your hair, and then put a good sulfate-free mask on top (Carol's Daughter makes a good one). Do this as often as necessary. I've made it a little ritual and do it once a week while listening to an audio book (yes, I'm lame, but at least I have my perfect shade of blonde)!
