We ordered a 28" unit and received the fireplace insert quickly but the packaging said it was a 26" unit. We called Revain to get the correct item and the second package also arrived quickly but it still says 26" on the outside. After speaking to the manufacturer we decided that the outer packaging was mislabeled had to and when we opened the product it was indeed the right product. The unit was too small to fit in our 41" fireplace but we knew it would be indoors so this review is not affected. The aesthetic is really nice. The logs and flames look very realistic and the background has a realistic brick texture. The unit itself is very similar to a CRT TV with a slightly rounded glass front. I think if it would fit in our fireplace the rounded one would be Glass a little strange.The blower is powerful enough.The room we use it in is quite large (over 400 square feet) so the room isn't heated but there is no air ducts in the room, which makes a big difference. The fork is long enough to get to the right spot. The device does not heat up, so it is safe for children. Even the air coming out of the fan isn't hot enough to burn or cause discomfort (which is one reason it's not exactly effective in our large cold room). The remote control is nice and the touchscreen is really cool, but with one major downside (that's the only reason it doesn't get five stars) - there's no way to lock the controls. As the device does not get hot there is no reason for us to keep the child or children away which means they can fiddle with the controls. A simple control lock feature would be a big improvement.
