Great technique! But after I downloaded the movie files to my computer, created my movie using SONY software, and created a DVD, the video quality of the final product was no better than a VHS tape. I expected much more clarity from a SONY HD camcorder. I will report this if I can resolve the clarity issue and change my rating to five stars. 01/16/2010: Well, after capturing, downloading, editing and transferring recorded movies to DVD, I discovered something interesting about this camcorder. It is difficult for the recorder to focus in low or dim light. As a result, the image quality looks grainy or fuzzy. I guess you'd have to get a more professional camcorder if you wanted to shoot in low light without having to use a nasty spotlight. Additionally, when switching from close-up targets to telephoto and capturing distant scenes, the camera struggles to focus instantly or clearly, unless of course it's a bright sunny day outside. However, for a camera capable of recording several hours of recorded data, this is good. The touchscreen is cool, but editing should be left out when transferring movies to a computer. Also, deleting movies from a touchscreen can take a long time, which is why I personally do this after downloading family movies onto my computer. The sound quality is excellent! However, do not use photography if you need a quality photo. In general, not bad for a normal DVR. So I'm increasing my previous rating from two stars to three stars.
