At first I was a little skeptical that a simple silicone cup lid could do more than cover my drink. Luckily, Buddy's Primrose Tea Bag proved me wrong. This cap really deserves the time spent writing this review because it hasn't let me down even once a year when I use it almost daily. First, it does exactly what a drinking cap is supposed to do, it seals my cup. and prevents dust, pet hair and small particles from getting into my drink. Second, to my surprise, this lid really helps keep my drink hot! For example, I've just made myself some tea, brewed it in a buddy tea bag, bathed and dried the dog, then washed it, returned to the kitchen for tea, and the tea was still standing. very very warm. I'm really surprised that such a simple lid can keep a drink hot/warm for so long. Third, the slot on the side of the cover is very convenient. Not only does this simple slot serve the purpose of allowing the tea bag string to come out and feed into the string holder at the top, I found the slot perfect for keeping my stirring spoon in place. Sometimes I like to have a spoon nearby so I can stir drinks that tend to form layers, but I find it frustrating when the spoon tilts or falls deeper into my drink. The slit on the side of the Tea Bag Buddy is thick enough to wedge a spoon in and prevent it from falling/tipping into my drink which I LOVE! Fourth, the design of the Tea Bag Buddy top is so purposeful. The top of the Buddy tea bag is split in half with a narrow hole in the middle to hold your tea bag string to prevent it from falling and the tea string from soaking up the tea/liquid. Similar to the slot on the side, I can also clip my stirring spoon to the top of the Buddy Tea Bag where the string runs. So not only is it perfect for holding a tea bag, it's also perfect for holding mixing spoons! Also, the flat top makes the Buddy tea bag very easy to place on the table while you sip. Fifth, I never knew that squeezing a tea bag could be easier than traditional methods. Assuming your teabag is held in place with a string, to wring the teabag, all you have to do is grab the buddy teabag with the slit facing up (this will open the lid with the teabag hanging). and then press. That's all. Then just throw the tea bag away. It is really that easy. Finally, when you cover your beverage with a mug slot, you essentially create an airtight seal for your beverage. For example, if I do this with a hot drink, I can see the heat creating suction from the lid when the lid is actually being slowly sucked down because the air can't get through. for tea lovers who are looking for a lid for their drink.
