I bought these shoes in size 11.5 in black. I will base my review on 2 criteria: comfort and style. Normally I would add a third category (performance) for this type of shoe, but I didn't get that far. Style. I love having my wife with me when trying on shoes or clothes as she tends to show her feelings. sleeves, and she doesn't let me be persuaded into keeping ugly stuff just because it was a bargain. Her comment on the shoes was like skates with weird soles on these shoes. There is a gap around the arch or middle of the boot where that part of the sole is not connected to the actual upper of the boot. Judging by the photos on the web it wasn't as extreme/noticeable as it used to be on my leg. If they had a more normal sole, they would be much more attractive. 2 out of 5 stars for the optics. A regular outsole would qualify for 3.5 to 4 stars for appearance. Comfort is where I was really disappointed. I think I could overcome some style factors if they were very comfortable. A very comfortable training shoe can suffer a little optically for the right price. That was not the case with this shoe. They didn't seem to know much about cushioning, and any cushioning was obscured by the tightness/tightness of the shoe. In just a few seconds I realized that things are not good in this department. Perhaps over time they will loosen up and become more comfortable, but for a shoe that doesn't look good in person, it wasn't worth the time, energy, or money. 2 out of 5 stars for comfort.
