I needed an easy to use device that would alert me via an app in the event of a water leak. The installation failed and then it asked me to go into my router and change the frequency I was receiving the Wi-Fi signal on and start over. It raised so many red flags and seemed like a horrible way to start a relationship. So I went to Home Depot, bought a monitor that doesn't try to take over my internet or possibly interfere with another app in my house. I think the engineers are lazy, this is not a starter. I have no way of knowing if the hacker is working for the device manufacturer. Can't tell if the device works. I never got a signal to talk to me.
