Review on 🎧 MEElectronics Clarity Series Black Ceramic In-Ear Headphone with iPhone/Smartphone In-Line Mic/Remote [Discontinued] by Jake Winningham

Revainrating 4 out of 5

The A151's are excellent but they're pretty good for the price

Since I bought the Ultimate Ears TF 10 from Revain and the Sennheiser IE 80 from ebay it's just got HARDER and HARDER to write a proper review of my other IEM purchases. The above IEMs so far outperform anything in the $50-$150 range with absolutely superb sound, build and performance. As for the CC51, they offer a fairly clear sound with bass. That doesn't mean these are the best MEE headphones. I would say that this difference applies to A161 and A151. The soundstage, instrument separation and sonic performance are both better than the CC51. The thing is, they're cheaper and for the price they offer exceptional clarity and separation on both mp3 and FLAC files, especially when compared to the Apple Stock, Sennheiser 300II or Skullcandy. They outperform anything in the price range compared to Sony, Philips, AKG, Klipsch or Sennheiser. You just won't get the amount of bass and clarity that you get with these headphones. Are you feeling well now? No! They are chunky and the tips are very chunky and with short appendages. This may be because they are powered by micro drivers, which are in front of the sound tube like JVC's micro speakers, rather than behind it like most dynamic IEM drivers. One star deducted for that. The workmanship is questionable and the strain relief sucks. To me the built in microphone is useless and I would prefer the CC51 to be made without it. I'm not the type to use my iPhone as a music player as I have SONY NWZ, 3 Sansas and Cowon S9 with Fiio E6 amp to listen to music. However, some people use their phones and built-in iPods to listen to music and answer calls, and I'm sure they find this inappropriate? But like I said in my title, they're not the best or even the best in their price range, but they're pretty good for the price. UPDATE: I tried removing the standard tips to try a different size and ended up with a metal tip. separated from the ceramic body! I put it back together and surprisingly the speaker still worked. BUT GO! Freed by simply removing the tip?! crappy build quality!
