Thicker than regular sticky pads. I bought them because I was fed up with the sticky pads oozing out from under my feet and needing to be replaced. If fastened with a nail or nail, they should stand firmly in place. I read some reviewers complaining about bent nails etc. Most chair legs are made from dried hardwood and you can't just hammer a nail in and expect the nail (actually a needle) to bend unless a pilot hole is drilled first. I pre-drilled the pilot holes with a 1/16" drill bit to a depth slightly shorter than the length of the nail. I then drove the support nail in with a steel punch so all the force was on the head of the nail there it's much smaller than the diameter of the last one - about 1/8" I reckon. Very little force is required to insert the shoe given the pilot hole. See attached photo. The pads do their job well - I like them. Ignore them the negative reviews about bent nails and slipping when hammering - this is the result of improper installation by the customer, of course, such troubles could have been avoided if the seller had provided clear installation instructions both on his Revain list and in the box, what is not the case.
