We bought two gates to look after our two young grandchildren. My husband installed the gate according to the instructions, but the gate wobbled a bit in the door frame. Also, the gate door would not snap/fit into the gate frame and did not match the frame. The instructions say not to worry about the gap. It was funny not equalizing. Our little grandson stood at the gate and rattled it. My husband found a solution that now makes the gate work pretty well. We have a 32 inch doorway; I can't explain the situation, but my husband asked his contractor to make two small pieces of wood for each gate that fit between the door frame and the "screw" at the top and bottom of the gate at the end of the latch. The gate is now stable and quite strong and the latch is aligned with the frame, although the gate latch does not actually fit completely within the frame of the gate. Will I buy this gate again? Yes as most available gates seemed to be made for large openings this was what I was looking for and the gate door opens in any direction. We leave the gate open when there are no children. I like clean lines and although the door latch doesn't really fit into the frame of the gate, it does the job and the gate is pretty solid now.
